Rachel Houghton is Managing Director of Business Moves Group (BMG), bringing more than 25 years of experience within the relocation and estate management sector. Having joined the business in 1998 and progressed through a range of operational, commercial, and leadership roles, she has played a central role in shaping BMG into one of the UK’s leading commercial relocation specialists.
Since becoming Managing Director in 2008, Rachel has led the strategic growth and day-to-day management of the organisation, overseeing key areas including HR, health and safety, compliance, and client delivery. Her leadership has guided the business through significant periods of change, including the 2008 financial crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic, while continuing to strengthen operations, expand business divisions, and successfully reposition the brand.
Known for her decisive and forward-thinking approach, Rachel is passionate about innovation, sustainable client solutions, and building a positive, high-performing culture. She works closely with BMG’s management team and client base, leading major bids and developing long-term partnerships founded on trust, resilience, and service excellence.
Alongside her professional achievements, Rachel is recognised as a mentor and change agent within the business; committed to evolving both the organisation and the people within it. Her energy and determination extend beyond the workplace, where she regularly takes on endurance challenges including ultrathons, long-distance cycling, and endurance walking.
